stockton-on-tees-logo05Stocton-on-Tees Council is using sms text alerts to keep parents of children with additional needs informed about a range of support services on offer. Members of the public can join the service simply by texting UFC to short code 88802. The service also includes a text opt out that allows members to unsubscribe by text if they wish.

Subscribers to the text response service receive regular text alerts informing them about support that is available including local events, changes in benefits and opportunities for short beaks.

Text Marketer chosen as sms service provider.

Text Marketer has been selected as the bulk sms provider to supply the platform for sending the sms alert campaigns; their Marketing Director, Richard Hawley said:
“We have been working with many more local councils recently and we are delighted to be working with Stockton Council and the Families Information Zone.”
SMS is proving far more effective than other communication channels. 98% of text messages that are sent are opened and read, compared to open rates for e-mail of typically less than 20%. (source – Mobile Marketing Association)

Text response services are becoming increasingly popular and many organisations are now taking advantage of Text Marketer’s low cost sms response service which comes with a one week free trial.
