Using an SMS Short Code with IPN (Instant Payment Notification)
Our Short Code SMS platform also includes an IPN (Instant Payment Notification) feature;
The Text Marketer IPN is a service whereby by you can be notified once a premium rate message has been delivered to a customers handset. This is particularly useful for actioning something when the customer has actually been billed.
The IPN service is a simple GET request to a URL of your choice.
It contains the following parameters:
- number: the UK mobile number
- message id: a unique receipt id
- message: the full text of the customers reply
- tariff: the tariff (in pence) of the message, e.g 500 for £5
For example, a typical response might look like; ?number=<number>&id=<messageid>&message=<message>&tariff=<tariff>
